Cafe du Theatre: Away from the typical brunch in Brossard

With all honesty, unique items on brunch menu are quite limited in Brossard. When Cafe du Theatre came to the restaurant scene a little less than a year, it brought in a breath of fresh air. A menu that could be easily found on the plateau. But for obvious reasons, residents of South Shore do not always feel like going through the hassle of finding a parking. A paid parking, I need to emphasize.

Chai Latte and Cafe Butterscotch

I felt like treating myself, so I ordered a nice Chai Latte. Sadly, it was very underwhelming. The chai was weak and the temperature of the drink was just warm.

The Cafe Butterscoth was pretty amazing but again, not hot enough.

Cassolette

There was 2 cassolette on the menu. I opted for the braised ham with wild mushrooms, braised onions, potatoes, oka cheese and an egg.

The dish was delicious although way too salty. The bread that came with it was quite helpful.

Pain Perdu

Spongy bread with maple syrup and apples. This was stellar. A perfect fix for a morning desire for sweetness. This dish itself would not really fill an empty stomach though.

Going to Cafe du Theatre for brunch was a great eye opener to see what other options are available in South Shore. I would highly suggest to go there before your stomach is growling. The service was very slow – I had waited 30 minutes just for my Chai latte and another 30 minutes for my meal.
