Kinton Ramen: Legit ramen finally in Montreal

Kinton Ramen: Legit ramen finally in Montreal

A while back, when someone asked me where was the best ramen in Montreal, I would remained silent. Nothing came to my mind other than Vancouver options. If someone would ask the same question today, I would immediately respond “Kinton”.

MKT – Italian seaside dining experience?

Mimi La Nuit: Where it happens

Mimi La Nuit: Where it happens

I’ve left Old Port for a while and been venturing out around the plateau. A friend’s birthday brought me back and it was held at Mimi la Nuit.

It was wonderful.

With a big group, Mimi la Nuit offers a group menu, at either 55$ or 65$. A private room is also offered, with a bar just for the group. The menu at 55$, includes 4 services and a amuse-bouche. It was money well spent.

The decor and the music were perfect. I kept thinking how it could be a nice cozy reception hall for a low key wedding reception. Actually, it would fit for any celebration occasion.

The food was great. I was actually surprised by the main menu’s portion. It was generous. At 55$, I really couldn’t complain. The braised ribs were humongous and very tender. The cod was fluffy and flakey. My favorite dish was the appetizer. Both appetizers were delicious, the beet salad and the carrot salad. For the carrot salad, I had a hard time identifying. The texture was so different. These days, I am more impressed by what chefs can achieve with vegetables than meat dishes. Meat dishes seem to have plateaued; they all taste the same.

Disregarding the private room and group menu, the place is lively. There are many people and the music just makes you want to dance (or at least move your upper body while enjoying the meal). A side note, the drinks are quite expensive. But a night out at a bar/restaurant is never cheap, right?

Mimi la Nuit is the ultimate destination for young professionals or anyone after 30s still ready to mingle. Or anyone like me who enjoys gastronomy at a space with delightful ambiance.

As a side note, the pictures are not good. Small purse means no camera. With a bit of help from filters, some actually achieve drooling effect!
