Shu Uemura Face architect illuminating moisture fluid foundation review

Shu Uemura Face architect illuminating moisture fluid foundation review

I have received tons and tons of sample for Shu Uemura Face Architect illuminating moisture fluid foundation. One sample of 1 ml. can last more than a week for me! The fact that I had so many samples of this foundation helped me to decide if it’s a must have foundation.

This is a medium to full coverage foundation. Matching exactly my skin tone (medium light sand), I only need to use a tiny pea size amount to cover my whole face. Once, I accidentally put too much and it still felt very light weight. However, it became very obvious that I had foundation on because the application was very streaky. The brush strokes were easily seen and it seemed a bit hard to blend out. And when I blended a bit too much, it became slightly cakey. On the other hand when I put a tiny bit, it has a light powder and illuminating effect.

After a whole day of work, the foundation did not look nice on me at all. It became blotchy and the dry patches were even more obvious. A plus side would be that it never broke me out.

I find this foundation hard to work with although the coverage is superior. I’m more into no-brainer ones that I don’t need to worry during the day if the foundation still look presentable.

Clearly, this foundation isn’t for me.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

L’Occitane shea butter hand cream has been a savior for many hands this winter!

It was so precious that many were using it behind me! I was using it so sparingly because the price tag isn’t that friendly. But being so effective, it’s almost justifiable to buy a tube per winter just to give my hands a break from the harsh winter.

P

Typical shea butter cream, the hand cream could feel a bit oily at first. But when my hands are so dry, it doesn’t mind any kind of remedy.

The hand cream comes in many scent too. There’s bound to be one that please you! Sensitive to scent? No problem, the original one has no smell!

Go to L’Occitane and give your hands a treat!

La Roche-Posay Posthelios Melt-in gel: My flaky skin saver

Are you having BAD flaky skin? I am too! And I just found my saviour! La Roche-Posay Posthelios Melt-in gel!

I was using this stuff while I was in vacation in the south as it is meant to be used after sun tanning. But I didn’t see much difference using it or not. I guess the humid weather just kept my skin always so hydrated.

But! I guess it was a different story when I came back to cold climate!

My skin was so dry; it literally looked like super dried out patch of land:

So I pulled out La Roche-Posay Posthelios Melt-in gel thinking that it’s suppose to put on burnt skin, then it should work on flaky skin. It’s basically the same thing, right?

TA DA! What wonders it did! My legs were smooth within 2 days. No exaggeration! No more ugly dried land legs.

And then, my rich facial cream ran out…and it didn’t take long my face became flaky as well! I slapped on some Posthelios melt-in gel. Voila! Baby smooth skin reborn! The improvement can been seen within 1 day, no kidding!

Winter still has a month go and summer is coming soon. La Roche-Posay Posthelios melt-in gel can be used in both season! It is just perfect!

What is your dry skin remedy?

Shu Uemura Depsea Hydrability review

Shu Uemura Depsea hydrability moisturizing emulsion is a milky liquid lotion.

Shu Uemura Depsea hydrability alnight quench micro-retexturizing SOS moisture essence is a night serum.

Purchased these over a year and I was using them sparingly. I only started to use them religiously in mid-summer. Now that the serum is at its end of its life and the lotion has about one more month to go, I think I can adequately assess its effectiveness.

When used in conjunction, these 2 products leave my skin hydrated and have much controlled my acne appearance, even after being back to work full-time.

Although these products do not leave any trace of greasy film, the serum is somewhat sticky but the lotion fixes that problem once it is applied over the serum. The skin absorbs these products very quickly.

I don’t think they are moisturizing enough for harsh winter, especially my skin tend to have dry patches. But they are definitely great for any other season.

The chance of repurchasing these products are high if I fail to find cheaper alternatives, especially if the alternatives will trigger acne again.

Overall, I enjoy them but wish they are more budget friendly.

Lancome Hypose Doll Eyes Mascara

Another Lancome mascara review! Funny thing is I keep receiving Lancome mascara as a gift. I never bought one as I find the price tag is too hefty.

lancome_hypnose_doll_eyes

Like other Lancome mascara, Hypose Doll Eyes mascara has a very strong floral scent, which really bothers me. The scent does not transferred to my lashes, but it’s simply unpleasant to smell it whenever I applied it on my lashes.

It is smudged proof (I’m not sure if mine is waterproof as the gift was given without the box).

I quite like the shape of the applicator. The cone-shaped brush allowed all of my short lashes a chance for uplifting effects, even hard to reach ones! It is definitely a very good mascara for bottom lashes as well!

The only thing that I didn’t like is that my lashes get easily clumpy. I am able to achieve to defined lashes look if I am more careful to not coat too many times. But then again, my lashes wouldn’t look volumized enough.

Will I repurchase? No…because it isn’t better than drugstore mascaras.
