Ganadara: The new modern Korean food

Ganadara: The new modern Korean food

I am an avid fan of Korean variety shows. Their humor is totally my kind. And of course, a big part of their screen time is introducing some delicious Korean dishes that I can only see but cannot taste.

Ganadara is relieving me from that dreadful torture!

Cafe du Theatre: Away from the typical brunch in Brossard

Cafe du Theatre: Away from the typical brunch in Brossard

With all honesty, unique items on brunch menu are quite limited in Brossard. When Cafe du Theatre came to the restaurant scene a little less than a year, it brought in a breath of fresh air. Restaurant Day at Montreal

Restaurant Day at Montreal

Have you heard of Restaurant Day? What if I tell you opening your dream restaurant can be realized? This is exactly what Restaurant Day is about! Simply register your restaurant at www.restaurantday.org Next one is February 21, 2016. Don’t miss it!

I came to know about Restaurant Day because my friend and her friends were opening a Malaysian restaurant called Mamak Montreal. With a little more than 30$, we had a full meal course for 3 people! The food was one of a type, that can’t be found anywhere else in Montreal. True authenticity!

Menu:
– Kaya & Butter Toast (Coconut Jam & Butter on Toast) – on the right
– Roti Jala dan Kari Ikan (Lacy Pancake with Fish Curry) – on the left
– Kuih Sago (Sago Dessert Snack) – bottom
– Kuih Bingka (Cassava Cake) – bottom
– Michael Jackson (Soy milk with grass jelly) – top left
– Hot Milo (Malaysians’ equivalent of Quik) – top right

The most memorable has to be Kaya and butter toast. I was horrified at the scene of a thick slice of butter between the 2 slices of toast, but they reassured that once I taste it, I would understand why the butter was needed. The coconut jam and the butter go so well together. I actually forgot about the existence of the thick butter.
